Our Mission to End Hunger
Food insecurity is on the rise nationwide. The Feed Your Neighbor Community Food Pantry is a non-profit, with a 501c3 completed application pending approval by the I.R.S. We aim to help as many as we can by hosting a distribution every Thursday afternoon.
14%
of the overall population is food insecure.
23%
of children in Pitt County are food insecure.
450
people receive meals through our organization weekly.
175,000
pounds of food are distributed through our food pantry annually.
Partners in Food Distribution in Eastern North Carolina
As a distribution partner of the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina, Feed Your Neighbor Community Food Pantry is part of the Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP). We estimate that 75% of the people we serve access this federal program, which provides nutritious USDA food to income-qualified individuals and families.
Widening Access to Assistance
While our partnership with the Food Bank meets the needs of those who qualify for TEFAP, we know the demand in our community is greater. Thanks to the generosity of donors, we're able to supplement TEFAP with additional meals, including fresh, frozen, and shelf-stable options. With more support, we hope to expand this assistance to help even more of our neighbors in need.
A Welcoming, Safe Place at the Pantry
All are welcome at Feed Your Neighbor Food Pantry. Though a separate non-profit organization, we remain closely associated with St. Paul’s Episcopal Church reiterating our belief that God loves you – no exceptions. We strive to champion diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility through understanding and acceptance. No matter your religious affiliation, age, race, or gender, you have a place in our pantry.

Get Involved
As the need for emergency food assistance grows in our community, we need your help. We are actively seeking volunteers to assist both on-site and behind the scenes. We also welcome financial or in-kind contributions to provide more food bags, feed more families, expand distribution, and explore future growth opportunities.
